qutub minar complex
The Qutb Minar complex, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a remarkable example of Indo-Islamic architecture and the historical legacy of the Delhi Sultanate. The site features the iconic Qutb Minar, a soaring minaret that stands as a testament to the architectural prowess of the time. Constructed over several generations, starting with Qutb-ud-din Aibak and completed by Firoz Shah Tughlaq, the complex also includes the Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque and the famous Iron Pillar. The Alai Darwaza, the southern gateway of the mosque, showcases exquisite craftsmanship and is noted for being one of the earliest buildings in India to employ true Islamic architectural principles.
