Known for writing for a string of critically acclaimed British comedy series as well as satirical dramas, he has received numerous accolades including two British Academy Television Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, three Writers Guild of America Awards, and eight Primetime Emmy Awards in addition to nominations for an Academy Award and two British Academy Film Awards.
