📷 Futarasan Jinja
The Nikkō Futarasan Shrine, established in 767, is a revered Shinto shrine located in Nikkō, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. It forms part of the "Shrines and Temples of Nikkō," a UNESCO World Heritage Site recognized for its cultural significance, including its irimoya hip-and-gable roofs, a style borrowed from China. The shrine is dedicated to the deities of nation-building, agriculture, medicine, and protective magic, and it is known for its annual festival from April 13 to April 17. Encompassing a vast area second only to the Ise Grand Shrine, it includes several structures designated as Important Cultural Properties and National Treasures of Japan.
