Koto City, known in Japanese as Kōtō-ku, is a special ward located in the eastern part of Tokyo, Japan. It is a vibrant area with a rich history and a population of approximately 524,310 as of October 2020. The ward is characterized by its waterfront location, bordered by the Sumida River to the west and the Arakawa River to the east, and includes diverse districts such as Kameido and Toyosu. Koto City is also home to several notable attractions, including the modern Toyosu Market and the Tokyo Big Sight convention center. Despite its bustling nature, Koto maintains a blend of traditional and contemporary Japanese culture.
