The Cemetery Complexes of the Xiongnu Nobility, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, represent remarkable archaeological ensembles from the ancient Xiongnu confederation, a powerful nomadic empire that dominated the Eurasian steppes from the 3rd century BCE to the 1st century CE. These burial sites feature elaborate tombs with rich grave goods, including gold artifacts, weapons, and ritual objects, offering exceptional insight into the social hierarchy, funerary practices, and cultural exchanges of one of Central Asia’s earliest nomadic powers.
