hegra

Hegra, also known as Al-Hijr or Madāʾin Ṣāliḥ, is Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest preserved settlement of the Nabataean civilization south of Petra. It features over 100 well-preserved monumental rock-cut tombs with elaborately decorated facades, inscriptions, and hydraulic systems dating from the 1st century BC to the 1st century AD. The site stands as an outstanding testament to Nabataean architectural mastery, artistic achievement, and their control of ancient trade routes across the Arabian Desert.
