Parque Nacional Tapantí - Macizo de la Muerte is a protected area in Costa Rica's Talamanca Range, forming part of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Talamanca Range-La Amistad Reserves. This expansive park safeguards diverse ecosystems, from humid premontane and montane rainforests to cloud forests and high-altitude moorlands, in one of the country's rainiest regions. It supports rich biodiversity, including numerous mammals, over 260 bird species, reptiles, and unique flora such as ancient oak and alder forests, while protecting vital watersheds and wildlife corridors.
