tamaulipas

Tamaulipas is a northeastern Mexican state bordering Texas (United States) to the north along the Rio Grande, the Gulf of Mexico to the east, and the Mexican states of Veracruz, San Luis Potosí, and Nuevo León. Its capital is Ciudad Victoria, while major cities include Reynosa, Matamoros, Nuevo Laredo, and Tampico. The state features diverse landscapes—from fertile northern plains and extensive irrigated farmlands to mountainous southern regions, coastal lagoons, and beaches—and stands out economically for large-scale agriculture (especially sorghum, cotton, and citrus), livestock, Gulf fisheries, and significant production of petroleum and natural gas.
