coahuila
Coahuila, officially Coahuila de Zaragoza, is a northern Mexican state bordering Texas in the United States. Its capital is Saltillo, with major cities including Torreón, Monclova, and Piedras Negras. The state features diverse landscapes ranging from arid deserts in the west to mountainous highlands in the east, supporting agriculture like cotton and grapes as well as wine production. Economically, Coahuila is a key industrial hub, leading in automotive manufacturing, steel production, mining (including coal, silver, and gold), and dairy processing. Historically, it played a significant role in Mexico's past, briefly united with Texas in the 19th century and birthplace to revolutionary leaders like Francisco Madero and Venustiano Carranza.
